Our Commitment to Change
At Restore A Dream Africa (RADA), we are driven by a profound commitment to transform lives through innovative programs and community support. Our multifaceted approach focuses on addressing the root causes of poverty and inequality, empowering orphans, widows, and vulnerable individuals to build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
VUKA Rites of Passage Program
The VUKA program offers an alternative rite of passage known as the ‘VUKA Rites of Passage’ to replace outdated cultural practices. “VUKA” means to “cross over,” symbolizing the transition from childhood to young adulthood. This annual event targets both boys and girls aged 12-16 years.
Initially focusing on girls, the program’s success led to the launch of the VUKA Boys Rites of Passage in December 2023, ensuring gender empowerment for both boys and girls. The program combines spiritual guidance with education while avoiding regressive traditional practices. Mentors and facilitators, including community leaders and pastors, emphasize cultural values and the importance of staying committed to education.
The impact is evident as participants return to their communities with a renewed sense of purpose, often taking up mentorship roles and contributing actively to community development. Since its inception in 2017, the VUKA program has positively impacted over 600 girls and numerous families.

Parent Support Program (PSP)
he Parent Support Program is a crucial component of RADA’s initiatives, as it empowers parents with essential skills in parenting and economic development. The program focuses on sustainable agriculture to ensure food security and healthy living, promoting proper farming practices to preserve soil health. This approach not only supports family well-being but also offers economic empowerment, enabling widows to provide for their families’ basic needs.
Young Mothers Support Program (YMSP)
The Young Mothers Support Program targets young mothers who have left school due to poverty or early pregnancies. It provides skills training in areas such as tailoring and catering, alongside education on proper nutrition for themselves and their babies. This initiative helps young mothers gain independence and better support their children’s well-being.

Student Support Program (SSP)
The Student Support Program focuses on mentoring students who benefit from scholarships. It aims to maintain students’ well-being, academic focus, and performance throughout their educational journey. Additionally, girls receive sanitary pads to ensure their dignity and uninterrupted school attendance, promoting educational equality.
